Goizueta takes 2nd place in Deloitte Human Capital Case Competition

Racing against both the clock and their competitors, Emory University's Goizueta Business School took second place and an award of $14,000 in the second annual National MBA Human Capital Case Competition. The event, which took place from Oct 16-17, 2009, was hosted by the Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management and sponsored by Deloitte.

The challenge
Over the course of two days, nine teams of graduate students from top universities, including UNC, Yale, Cornell, U of Michigan, and others, focused their attention on issues related to human capital, a rapidly emerging academic and professional field. The top teams were selected based on how well they demonstrated the link between human capital solutions and real business impact. Executives from Deloitte and GE served as judges for the contest.

The winning team
Advised by Professor Michael Sacks, the Goizueta team included the following Full-Time MBA students:

  • Shreya Baliga
  • Greg Barnes
  • Gary Bernau
  • Nichelle Evans
  • Parul Lahoti
  • Moyra Wright

Congratulations to Professor Sacks and the entire team!
